The one good thing about The Donald, is that at any minute of the day, there is at least one juicy scandal bubbling across the internet about him. Mind you, currently there are a few but the one that this article is dedicated to concerns Trump’s crusade to get out of his debate with Hillary.
Hopefully, the debates will occur, because I have been really looking forward to them. I’m sure that for the same reason that I am looking forward to these debates, Trump desperately wants to weasel out of them. He will be destroyed by Hillary. If you really think anything else, you have been completely Trump washed.
Trump prevailed in the primary debates, but there are a lot of differences between debating Herman Cain and Sarah Palin and debating Hillary Clinton.
For one thing, the primary debates were Trump against a few candidates, except the one that Trump canceled out of. Trump clearly does better the more people on the debate stage, when the debate is nothing more than a kindergarten screaming match. Also, the more people on stage the more time has to be allotted to the candidates, and the less time individual candidates have to speak about policy detail.
Trump might feel less scared on a debate stage with Hillary, if Gary Johnson and Jill Stein were with him. Unfortunately for The Donald, debate commission rules stipulate that you must have 15% support in X amount of major polls to be included in the debate. Stein and Johnson are unlikely to meet that requirement.
Say what you want about the woman, but Hillary is one tough cookie. According to the last two democratic presidents, Hillary is the most qualified person to ever run for president. Say what you want about that quote, but Donald could very well be the least qualified candidate to run for president. The apparent advantages and handicaps are tremendous. If I was Trump I’d want to get out of that debate. And the one thing we have learned about Trump, is that he gets what he wants.
During an interview with ABC News, Trump objected to the dates of the debates.
“I’ll tell you what I don’t like. It’s against two NFL games,” he said. “I got a letter from the NFL saying, ‘This is ridiculous.'”
The weird part about this, is that the NFL knew nothing about this “letter”. An NFL spokesperson reiterated that, “While we’d obviously wish the debate commission could find another night, we did not send a letter to Trump.”
These debate dates have been known for a long time. In fact, they were the same dates in ’12 election.
Who is telling the truth the NFL or The Donald?
It appears as if The Donald has commenced an elaborate plan to get out of the debates. Apparently, The Donald is petrified to go against Hillary, as most people would be.
Ideally, The Donald would be able to get out of the debate without looking like the one running away. Another tactic he is employing is by blaming the Democrats.
Another reason that validates Trump’s fear of these debates is that there will be real moderators like Jim Leher as opposed to light weights like Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace. Questions like ‘what is your favorite flavor bubble gum’ are fun and all, but during these debates Trump is gonna be asked real questions with real substance.
Get your popcorn, it’ll be fun watching Trump trying to weasel out of these debates.
