Hillary’s Child Tax Credit – Who Would it Help?

in Hillary Clinton by

A few weeks ago, Hillary proposed two changes to the Child Tax Credit. Hillary has spent her political and legal career helping children and mothers. Her proposed legislation is aimed to provide much needed help to struggling families with raising their kids. There were probably 700 stories the main stream media would prefer to feature, which is why I am only reading about this now.

Hillary Clinton proposed doubling the Child Tax Credit for children under five, from $1,000 to $2,000 per child. Clinton also wants to expand the refundability of the credit to lower income families. As a result, 15 million children will benefit from this tax credit. Basically, Hillary’s proposed plan would help millions of poor families with financial relief.

Trump wants to help families as well, except the wealthiest families in the country.

In addition, Clinton is pushing for pre-kindergarten programs and paid family leave. She would limit child care expenses to 10% of the family income. The average cost of child care in the U.S. is almost $10,000 dollars! Hence, 10% would be an enormous help.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will propose doubling the Child Tax Credit to $2,000 per child, up to and including 4-year-olds, the campaign announced this morning.

Clinton would also expand the credit by lowering the threshold for claiming a refund from $3,000 in earnings to “the first dollar of earnings for families with children of all ages,” according to a statement from the campaign.

Hillary’s entire career, ever since she was a lawyer, has been about helping children and women.
