The Story of a Man who was Saved by Hillary

in Hillary Clinton by

Once upon a time, James Grissom was a Bernie supporter.

The story of James Grissom is very sad, but it does have a great ending.

In 2007, he was working part-time at a bookstore in New York City. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer. To make a horrendous story even more frightening, he had no insurance and no savings. Read his Facebook message below.

He was sent to Planned Parenthood, where an employee mapped out some options he could pursue. Grissom says once they learned he had no insurance, the Planned Parenthood physicians and oncologists treated him like family. (If Republicans had their way, Planned Parenthoods would be destroyed….why?)

However, the hospital was not as kind to Grissom. Once they found out of his financial hardships, they reported him to a collection agency.

With no other alternatives, his doctor suggested that Grissom contacted his senator.

“Within two weeks I was speaking to someone in her office, who, at one point, handed the phone to the senator herself,” Grissom wrote, ” ‘You did not enter a credit agreement with that hospital,’ she told me, ‘So I cannot fathom why they are pursuing you as if you did. In addition, that hospital is aided by the state of New York and the federal government, so they are way out of line. You need to fight this cancer and get well: You don’t have time for this nonsense. Let me look into it.’ ”

Hillary Clinton helped Grissom locate financial aid for cancer victims. She also got those pesky collection calls to stop. As a result, half of his debt was eliminated and he managed to pay it all off in two years.

Oh yeah, he is cancer free now!
