Donald Trump finally acknowledged the enormous conflicts that exist between his business empire and his new role as president. He said, “legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations.”
The weird part was that was all he said. Except,
Unless he sells his businesses completely, there is no way around encountering a conflict. He has proposed he could hand over his company to his kids. But his kids will be working right alongside him in the White House. Even if his kids weren’t in the White House, Trump would have direct contact with all of them. Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose?
“On the bright side, at least he’s now acknowledged that his involvement in the Trump Organization creates conflicts of interest — or at the very least the appearance of conflicts,” said Paul S. Ryan, a political law expert at the watchdog group Common Cause. “For now, we’ll just have to pop some popcorn and wait for the December 15 episode of our nation’s most serious and important new reality show — the Trump Presidency — when we’re provided with the details regarding what his tweets this morning meant.” Washington Post article
He isn’t even president yet, and Trump has already shocked the world with some flagrant abuses of his leadership. For example, he met with a British politician and persuaded him to get rid of the wind farms blocking the view on his Scottish golf course!
In addition, as a result of his wife’s decision not to live in the White House, US taxpayer as well as NY taxpayer will pay millions a year to provide security and rent out two floors of Trump Tower!
Think of the millions of dollars we spent in investigating Hillary’s Benghazzi and email scandals. Although six Republican-led investigations found she committed no crime including one led by Trey Gowdy, they kept pounding their fists and screaming for her blood! But they don’t care about Trump’s disgusting conflict of interests?
