Even Donald Trump could see how crooked Tom Price, his nominee for head of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), looked. In 2015, Tom Price was a congressman and was also one of a few American investors allowed to buy discounted shares of Innate Immunotherapeutics. Republicans could defend him till their blue (or orange) in the face, but Tom Price scored such a lucrative deal because of his position in government. You know how many government laws were created to prevent that exact crime? We vote these politicians into office, and they trample over our constitution and stuff their pockets. Disgusting!
As a result, Tom Price agreed to sell all of his stocks in medical companies, on the condition that he gained the nomination of Head of the HHS.
Check out the title to this Huffington Post article: Should Trump Nominee Tom-Price be in Jail For Insider Trading?
Hillary uses an unprotected server, and half the nation wants to arrest her. Or, you can do some sneaky insider trading, and become head of the Department of Health and Human Services! Ain’t America beautiful?
Selling and buying stocks in companies that he was legislating was a usual practice for Tom Price. He traded hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of shares in health-related companies while he voted for and against the legislation. Tom Price’s decision was not mandated by the good of the people who voted him into office, but rather whatever would net him more money.
There are so many examples of Tom Price taking advantage of his position. Now, he heads the Department of Health and Human Services. While in Congress, he suspiciously killed a rule that would have hurt drug company profits. Ironically, this vote came shortly after his broker bought him up to $90,000 worth of pharmaceutical stock. Imagine if a democrat was guilty of such blatant violations!
Since Tom Price was a surgeon, he was a six-term House member. His legislative career though makes the staunchest shit-kicker very proud. Some of the policies he has proposed are much more conservative than those of his House Republican peers.
His vision for health reform hinges on eliminating much of the federal government’s role in favor of a free-market framework built on privatization, state flexibility and changes to the tax code. The vast majority of the 20 million people now covered under Obamacare would have far less robust coverage — if they got anything at all.
“Young, healthy and wealthy people may do quite well under this vision of health care reform,” said Larry Levitt, a senior vice president at the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. “But the people who are older and poorer and sicker could do a lot worse.” Politico article
Price was also a big advocate for privatizing Medicare. In his vision for health care for America, seniors would get an amount to buy coverage. Most republicans love this voucher idea, although it has been proven not to work. All this system would do, is shift the burden onto seniors. Now that he is in charge of your healthcare, I reckon such a vision will become a reality.
The scary part is how, now that their leader controls our healthcare system, members of the AAPS must be drinking goat’s blood or however such a clandestine organization celebrates. I’m sure plenty of republicans might disagree with my choice of words, but an organization that promulgates views that are wrong at best and radical old wives tales at worst, could be classified as a cult.
Some of you might recognize AAPS, as the irrefutable “source” used in many Breitbart articles.
Take this little nugget,
“The executive director of a physicians’ organization questions how the mainstream media can ignore signs of what could be a traumatic brain injury in the Democrat nominee for president.”
How prestigious does that sound? I’d trust the diagnosis of an “executive director of a physicians’ organization” over mine, any day of the week. But when you find out that the organization is this creepy conservative group of doctors, that probably allows Breitabart to quote them for any incredulous medical claim, you might doubt their credibility.
Remember those wacky stories, claiming that all these “expert doctors” agree, Hillary is very unfit. How could someone in such bad shape be president? Turns out, those “expert doctors” were actually members of AAPS! Remember during the election, Fox News would have these segments about how sick and feeble Hillary Clinton was? All that nonsense used by the number one media conglomerate in the country, was from the radical right cult AAPS.
And you wonder why half the country voted for Trump?
The AAPS is every ugly conservative healthcare ideology rolled into one white old man. They don’t believe in providing medicare based on need. Nor do they believe in Medicare and Medicaid. Please check out AAPS Ten Commandments of Medicine.
The head of the HHS belongs to a secret organization that worships this oath:
It is our belief that anything that is morally right is ethical. It is further our belief that any measures that tend to lower the standards of medical care are evil and anything that is evil is unethical and immoral. Experience in every area of the world where it has been tried has demonstrated that governmental assumption of the responsibility for medical care (socialized medicine) for the general population (as opposed to members of the armed forces and former members with service-connected disabilities, to whom there is an extraordinary and recognizable obligation) has resulted in deterioration of the quality of medical care thus creating an effect opposite to the alleged and stated intent of the amendments. Thus the effect of the law is evil and participation in carrying out its provisions is, in our opinion, immoral.
Therefore, it is our belief that the only proper course for physicians is to:
Decline to serve on boards or committees established for the purpose of implementing, interpreting, expanding, and administering the Social Security Amendments of 1965;
Decline to sign papers or execute forms necessary to implement the provisions of the Social Security Amendments of 1965;
Emphasize to their patients that there is no intention of preventing any patient from receiving needed medical care but that such care must be rendered under conditions that are acceptable to both patient and physician.
Clearly and emphatically explain to their patients that the policy of Non-Participation is in the best, long-range interest of patients, physicians, and good medical care. AAPS
Take a look at their website. It is all a big joke. Every paragraph features crazy claims about tobacco taxes and abortion fatalities. According to a Rollingstone article, an article on the AAPS website, which has since been taken down, was about how Obama became president by hypnotizing voters. “Young people, educated people and Jews were susceptible to such ‘neurolinguistic programming’.”
In the old days, they would call such medical findings ‘quackery’. However, you can’t call it ‘quackery’ if the head of the Department of Health and Human Services believes it. In the pocket of the head of the HHS, is the card to AAPS. This is clearly another position, that Donald Trump must have asked himself, ‘who is the worst possible selection’?
Donald Trump has appointed to lead our nation’s healthcare system, a guy who opposes abortions and organ donations. This guy will be the final vote on all things dealing with Medicare and Trumpcare. The single most precious belief in Price’s organization is that healthcare is NOT a right of all citizens. If you are one of the millions of seniors or disabled people who rely on Medicare, you should be petrified.
