Donald Trump’s interview with the The New York Times, regarding Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is practically admitting his guilt. I couldn’t tell you of which crime, but his bizarre behavior is consistent with anyone hiding something.
I could write another article on his decision to grant The New York Times this interview. After all, according to Donald Trump, there is no bigger enemy to our country than the evil liberal media. Why would you grant such an important interview to a paper you feel is dishonest? Unless, you just say that for theatrical purposes.
I think The New York Times is one of the most dishonest media outlets I’ve ever seen in my life. The worst, the worst. – Donald Trump
The fact that a sitting president unleashed such an offensive litany of insults against his sitting Attorney General is unheard of in American politics. If someone secretly recorded him expressing such thoughts, it would still be enormous news. However, Donald Trump openly professed his beliefs to one of the leading newspapers of the country.
Trump’s rage was directed at Sessions recusing himself from the Russian investigation. Although Sessions recused himself four months ago, Trump is apparently still mighty pissed! Sessions even wanted to resign from his position, but Trump refused.
Sessions’ recusal came as a result of being advised by Justice Department ethics officials that he should not be involved in any campaign investigation, considering that he was involved in the campaign. Had it ended there, Sessions’ decision would have been innocent. However, almost immediately after his recusal, The Washington Post revealed that Sessions met with the Russian ambassador during the campaign and failed to disclose this during his confirmation hearing. Not only could such a lying during such a hearing be considered a crime, but right away, Democrats began accusing Sessions that he was hiding something. Reuters article
“Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else,” Trump told the New York Times.
Sessions was Trump’s choice. The only reason that he is the Attorney General was because Trump thought he would be a good fit. Hence, he is only insulting his own judgement, when he denounces the Attorney General. In addition, the Attorney General was Trump’s first supporter. Trump owes his entire swamp to Session’s endorsement.
But maybe there is more to Trump’s degrading comments. Let us try to step away from the interview and focus on the entire situation. Let us examine the facts.
Trump nominates Sessions for Attorney General.
Sessions tries to resign. When refused, he recuses himself from presiding over the Russian investigation.
Intelligence is revealed that Sessions met with Russians secretly. He even failed to mention this to the senate investigation.
Any non-Trumpkin has the mental capacity to recognize the blatant treachery going on in this situation. Sessions has been implicated in meeting with the Russians. Of course Donald would want someone guilty in the same crime, presiding over the investigation. Someone please give me another reason? After finding out that Sessions was a PART of the Russian investigation, if innocent, why would Trump want Sessions presiding over this investigation? The President of the United States should realize that the public deserves an investigation that follows rules and procedures. Unless, Comrade Jeff was his golden ticket.
Donald Trump, the defendant in sexual predatory cases as well as cases involving scamming little high school students, is our president. With good reason, he thinks he can do anything, and get away with it. Donald Trump must have thought, with Comrade Jeff heading the Russian investigation, he would be in the clear. Trump goes down then so will Sessions. What better insurance can Trump have then that?
Cause he no longer has that.
