I have written several articles, questioning some of Trump’s nominations. Not only are these nominations bad, but they are probably the worst possible selections. It was almost as if Trump was purposely trying to destroy the department, by selecting positions that he did, to lead them. Not to ring any alarm bells, but remember the Trump-Russia investigation!? Remember, Trump owed Russia A LOT of money!? Is it really that fantastic to think that Trump’s debt is now clear as a result of the unrelenting damage he has inflicted upon our country?

Agriculture Secretary – Sonny Perdue heads a global agribusiness empire. His loyalty is to big business. His first move as Agriculture Secretary was to remove health standards from public school meals. This is the person in charge of our nation’s agriculture!

Environmental Protection Agency – Scott Pruitt, climate denier who has worked closely with the fossil fuel industry his entire career. He has worked inside the coal industry.

Department of Education – Besty Devos has devoted her life to replacing our public school system with private charter schools.

Agriculture Research in Department of Agriculture – Sam Clovis, never had a single scientific graduate class. Instead, he has a right-wing talk show, based on denying climate change.

Department of Health – Tom Price’s vision for health reform includes replacing federal government’s role with that of a free-market framework. He is going to allow states to dispense Medicaid spending.

Secretary of Energy – Rick Perry flunked chemistry. He didn’t even know what the agency does. Now he is the head of it.

Department of Housing and Urban Development – Ben Carson has written op-eds about how our fair housing act is “failed socialism” and a “mandated social-engineering scheme”. Now, millions of people depend on him to have a roof over their heads!

President Trump is now appointing high grade government positions at the Agriculture Department headquarters, to a long-haul truck driver, a country club cabana attendant and the owner of a scented-candle company. Undoubtedly, in today’s economy, there was a long list of qualified candidates for those positions. Instead, Trump handed them to people clearly unqualified. You can’t have much respect for a company that you are hiring for, to hire such inept candidates.

Take Nick Brusky, the truck driver, for example. Trump gave him a position ranking at G-12 on the government’s pay scale, the highest one available. Nick now earns more than $79,000. The government has some requirements in it’s pay scale. All G-12 positions require a master’s degree. Politico looked at Nick’s resume, and it is not clear that he has a master’s. According to his resume, he never actually graduated college.

Is this just a desperate attempt to secure loyalty among his followers? Nick Brusky for example, worked on Trump’s campaign in Ohio. You think Nick liked Trump then? Think of how much he adores him now? It has to be more than that though. If you are President of the United States, you aren’t going to destroy massive government agencies just to thank your supporters. Isn’t that counterproductive?

What about Christopher O’Hagan? He earned the lucrative position of confidential assistant at the Agricultural Marketing Service, which helps producers of food, fiber and specialty crop growers market their goods. Consequently, O’Hagan graduated in 2016 from the University of Scranton with a major in history and a minor in economics. The only employment listed on his resume before handing out Trump leaflets on the street corner, was as a cabana attendant at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.
