The Department of Health and Human Services conducted a study to illustrate the massive amounts of money that refugees cost the American taxpayer. After all, this cockeyed train of thought was how Trump got elected. He fanned the racial hatred of America. Finally, we had a president that approved hatred based on the color of one’s skin. If Trump could prove the financial burden that refugees cost, then him and his white supremacist supporters would have been correct all along.

Unfortunately for Trump and the Grand Dragon, this did not go down so swimmingly.

In fact, the study proved that refugees brought in $63 billion more in government revenues over the past decade than they cost. The report, obtained by the New York Times, really leaves republicans with no argument, regarding preventing immigrants from entering our country. They contribute more to our economy than the alt-right, trailer living, swastika waving, food stamp eating republican.

Here is an immigration policy that will save lives and money. How about for every refugee that enters, one of those alt-right refugee haters has to leave?

The report concluded that refugees “contributed an estimated $269.1 billion in revenues to all levels of government” between 2005 and 2014 through the payment of federal, state and local taxes. “Overall, this report estimated that the net fiscal impact of refugees was positive over the 10-year period, at $63 billion.” NYTimes article

Unsatisfied with the findings, the White House called the report illegitimate and politically motivated.

“This leak was delivered by someone with an ideological agenda, not someone looking at hard data,” said Raj Shah, a White House spokesman.

Considering this article disproves everything that republicans believe in, they will naturally call it fake news. I wish I had a tool to deal with headlines I disagreed with as simple as saying two words! That would be a nice world. Though, calling this article “fake news” would be a tough argument to defend, considering that a republican government conducted the study. Donald Trump selected Tom Price to be the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Why would a republican led department go out of their way to prove their parties message and president is wrong? Isn’t it easier to believe, that the study was conducted authentically? And that the findings simply convey this message?

Trump was not about to let the the truth impede the speech he wanted to give to the United Nations. Trump was all pumped up to squawk a lot about how much refugees are costing America. According to the plan, Trump was going to threaten the leaders of the world to stop sending their refugees to our shores. Plus, the recent HHS study would prove exactly how much they are costing us!

The study was released the day before Trump’s UN speech to the United Nationals General Assembly on Tuesday. Undoubtedly, Trump was planning the news of the study to welcome him into the UN. Trump was hoping to have fuel to his fire of hatred. But it didn’t work out like that. Despite the findings, Trump continued preaching his message. In his speech, Trump insisted that uncontrolled migration are a massive burden on low-income people.

Trump’s 30% approval rating are from “low-income people”. Hence, it shouldn’t be difficult to figure out Trump’s reasoning on this one. Of course there is a reason why Donald Trump keeps disputing the fact that refugees contribute to our economy. Trump mist secure that gradually diminishing percentage of people who approve of him.

Everything he does in office, is to make them THINK that he is helping them. He isn’t. No wall is going up, no coal mines are returning, no travel ban will stick. In actuality, Trump is pummeling his faithful low-income supporters. His budget would impose work requirements on those receiving aid, including disability and food stamps. The budget would reduce spending on means-tested anti-poverty programs by $272 billion over the next 10 years. In addition, these cuts are nothing compared to the billions of dollars in discretionary spending for the poor, in housing assistance, education and other programs.

Trump is tricking his supporters by making them all hate immigrants. Not only is Trump ignoring the HHS study, but also the majority of research fails to prove that refugees cost us anything.

Still, our president continues to spew these lies.
