Trump’s presidency has been riddled with scandal ever since he rode down that damn escalator. His abuses of power are far reaching. Every single day another reason emerges to impeach our president. From the start, it was the lawsuits going on against Trump regarding him sexually abusing women and another lawsuit regarding him embezzling little children out of college tuition. Then, when he became president, he refused to relinquish his businesses. Theoretically, every guest at one of his resorts or his hotels is another violation of the emoluments clause.
Despite all of these abuses of power, yesterday Republicans launched two investigations into the biggest democratic nemesis’, Hillary and Obama.
“Decisions made by the Department of Justice in 2016 have led to a host of outstanding questions that must be answered,” said Oversight chair Trey Gowdy of South Carolina and Judiciary Committee chair Bob Goodlatte of Virginia in a joint statement. “Congress has a constitutional duty to preserve the integrity of our justice system by ensuring transparency and accountability of actions taken.” CNN
Remember that uranium conspiracy that Republicans desperately tried to pin on Hillary? The sale of a major uranium company was sold from Canada to Russia in 2010, and approved by Clinton’s State Department. The scandal involves Russian donations to the State Department at the time, and if these donations had anything to do with State Department’s decision to approve the sale.
Another investigation involves the Obama administration, and why former FBI director James Comey chose to divulge inquiry into Hillary, but not the one about Trump’s aides and Russia.
At first glance, this looks really bad for Democrats. However, upon closer scrutiny, the masquerade that these investigations are become abundantly obvious. Not even a year in office, and Trump has destroyed the Republican party. He has proven to the world that he is incompetent. The only news we read is about Trump are scandals. Trump and Russia. Trump’s middle school tirades against other Republicans. Trump’s moronic tweets. It has become a joke. Trump is threatening to destroy the Republican party.
I guarantee that these investigations will never produce a single conviction. These investigations are meant to diverge attention from Trump’s shit show.
The sad part is that we have to pay millions of dollars to pay for these Trump publicity stunts. We elected him, so we deserve it.
