Trump has cast the fate of almost 800,000 immigrants who were illegally brought over to America as children. Being the crappy business dealer that he is, Trump is trying to force his own money making scheme as collateral to protect these children. Trump is demanding that his border wall be built, or else these illegal children are shipped back to where they came from.
“The Democrats have been told, and fully understand, that there can be no DACA without the desperately needed WALL at the Southern Border and an END to the horrible Chain Migration & ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration etc,” Trump tweeted. “We must protect our Country at all cost!”
Democrats have been trying to preserve DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. It is cruel to punish little babies that are brought across our borders illegally. Trump is literally threatening to break up hundreds of thousands of families. Countless more lives would be ruined.
As disgusting as this might sound, Trump views funding for his Magical Wall as worth all of the destroyed lives ending DACA would produce. After all, that was his number one campaign promise. Everyone in the world might despise him, but if he could pump out a wall, than at least his uneducated and unemployed fan base would approve of him.
Since 2000, legal immigrants to the United States number approximately 1,000,000 per year, of whom about 600,000 are Change of Status who already are in the U.S. Legal immigrants to the United States now are at their highest level ever, at just over37,000,000 legal immigrants. UN
While this decision seals the fate of those 800,000 children, it also seals the fate of the republican party. I have always hypothesized that not only America, but the world, is becoming more liberal in views and more populated with immigrants. Gay marriage and legalization couldn’t happen fifteen years ago. Plus, our cities take in more immigrants each day. For a republican to enforce a law so crippling towards immigrants is suicide.
Hate Trump all you want, but he sure is killing the republican party much more efficiently than any democrat could ever.
