Mollie Tibbets was young and beautiful. She was a beloved student at Iowa college. Her promising future was brimming with light. But then she was found dead. According to her autopsy, “sharp force injuries” covered her body. Turns out her killer was an illegal immigrant. Not even a day transpired since news of her death, that republicans leaped at the opportunity to publicize Mollie’s death. How evil do you have to be to ignore the will of a grieving parent and politicize their child’s death?
Think of the shock and pain her parent’s must be going through. Imagine the day that they found out their daughter was killed and to have read Trump’s message,
You heard about today with the illegal alien coming in, very sadly, from Mexico and you saw what happened to that incredible, beautiful young woman,” Trump told the crowd. “Should’ve never happened. Illegally in our country. We’ve had a huge impact, the laws are so bad. The immigration laws are such a disgrace.” NYPost
If there is one thing we learned the past few years, it is that republicans are nothing more than little puppets dancing on a stage. There was a reason that Trump’s initial group of supporters were uneducated and poor. Such a demographic is easy to manipulate. When Trump feigned his sorrow over Mollie’s death, the murky and rotten sea of Trumpkins became furious. After all, Trump rode to the White House on the wings of immigration reform. His calls to kick out Hispanics from our country earned him enough support. This beautiful young girl’s death only reiterated Trump’s neo-Nazi immigration policies.
To make it even worse, according to her father, Mollie vehemently opposed the cause the president was using her death to politicize. Imagine that your daughter was passionate for equality and unity, and then the president uses her death to politicize separation and expulsion! In the name of his daughter, Mollie’s father tried to separate her from the ugly racist cause Trump was stamping her approval to. To the Hispanic community, he wrote,
My family stands with you and offers its heartfelt apology. That you’ve been beset by the circumstances of Mollie’s death is wrong. “We treasure the contribution you bring to the American tapestry in all its color and melody,” he added.
Suddenly, Mollies grieving parents became enemies. The Road to Power, a neonazi group, in a robocall, called her family traitors. The message also assumed that if Mollie was resurrected, she would want to kill every single immigrant in the country.
Republicans feed off of the fragility of society. All they care about is lowering taxes. That might get them 2% of the vote. They need to placate America with very passionate subjects to get another 49% of the vote. Abortion, gun rights and immigration do the trick.
Could you think of a more disgusting trick? For the political party of our country, to politicize a child’s death defies everything America is. But to make it even worse, this isn’t the first time republicans have done this. Apparently, the same exact reaction unfolded with DNC staffer Seth Rich as well as the high school students of Stoneman Douglas.
After a mentally unstable student easily got a gun and shot up his high school, naturally the surviving students vocally opposed gun rights. As a result, these little traumatized high schoolers became the enemy of the right. As I said before, republicans must fight for abortion, gun rights and immigration. Without these fights, republicans are nothing. Stoneman Douglas became a very powerful opposition to gun rights. Hence, they had to be shut down.
An aide to a Florida legislator was fired after he called the school shooting survivors crisis actors. His fantastic story about these little kids that travel from crisis to crisis screaming about gun rights was like music to republicans’ ears. Donald Trump Jr. even accused one of the students as being coached by his FBI agent father. According to him, all that they cared about was peddling “anti-Trump rhetoric and anti-gun legislation.” WashingtonPost
And then Leslie Gibson, a republican running for the Maine House of Representatives, withdraw his nomination after he called one of the Stoneman Douglas students a “skinhead lesbian” and another student a “bald-faced liar”. Just a reminder these are HIGH SCHOOL students who survived a vicious tragedy. Their friends were killed and this is how republican react.
Good God! Give these parents a few seconds to grieve before stuffing the images of their slain children down their throats! Why do they politicize pain and grief?
What about Seth Rich? He was a DNC staffer who was shot dead while working for Hillary. As a result, republican conspiracies exploded regarding his death. Facts did not matter, nor did his grieving parents’ pleas to let their son rest. When these conspiracy theories were featured on Fox News, the nation’s number one media conglomerate, as legitimate, his crying parents demanded a retraction.
One thing we can be sure of, those Stoneman Douglas students won’t vote republican. Neither will any of their friends or the schools that they speak to. Republicans must use every shitty and dirty trick in the book. They must politicize these subjects to their base. It is like holding a carrot in front of a donkey. Old white racist people die and get replaced on the voting lines by young ethnic people. Republicans won’t last much longer. I will guarantee that one.
